Job appointments 'on the rise' across Europe
The number of people being employed in sales jobs and other positions is continuing to rise across the UK and the rest of Europe, according to the latest figures.
According to the EU Labour Force Survey, from the end of the second quarter of 2010 until the end of the second quarter of 2011 around 46.7 million people in 26 countries were employed in a new job.
The data is drawn from a wide range of sources, including public employment services, recruitment agencies, online services, the EU statistics office, job vacancy statistics and national statistical offices.
It revealed that employment as a whole increased by approximately one million between the second quarter of 2012 and the second quarter of 2011 – a trend expected to continue in the months ahead.
According to the latest JobsOutlook from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, 98 per cent of UK firms said they are expecting to increase or maintain their workforce over the coming 12 months.
