Job opportunities in London 'will pick up'
There will be an increase in the number of recruitment opportunities in London in the coming weeks as companies begin to take on more staff, a new report has suggested.
Research carried out by Morgan McKinley suggests that half of hiring managers in the capital's financial services sector will be upping their recruitment drives in the second half of 2010 as the fallout of the economic downturn begins to dissipate.
Andrew Evans, managing director of the organisation, commented: "As anticipated at the start of the year, hiring in 2010 was expected to rise significantly compared to 2009 levels and this has proven to be the case."
The research also showed that 55 per cent of hiring managers feel that finding candidates with the right skills and experience is more difficult than a year ago.
It follows comments by Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, who pointed out that the economic outlook is now far more positive than at the start of the year, with companies likely to recruit in the near future.
