Economic growth 'will lead to job creation'

The growth in the UK's economy in the second quarter of the year is likely to lead to many more new staff being hired, one expert has predicted, which includes sales recruitment.

Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said that the economic outlook is far more positive than at the start of the year, with companies likely to recruit in the near future.

His comments follow the publication of figures by the Office for National Statistics which showed 1.1 per cent growth in the country's economy between April and June 2010 - almost double the 0.6 per cent growth rate expected by economists.

Mr Green explained: "The fact that we have the fastest quarterly expansion since 2006 will improve business confidence and should encourage firms to start hiring new staff. Recruitment industry data confirms that demand for staff in the private sector has already been growing over recent months."
