Arkin Salih, learning and development manager for Harrods, said by creating a degree tailored to the needs of the luxury retail environment the store is setting new standards in the retail sector.

"This will be the qualification for retail employees wishing to bolster their sales professionalism whilst investing for their long-term career planning," he said.

Professor Michael Thorne, university vice-chancellor, added that Harrods has a reputation for retail staff training that is second to none and he is happy the institute is helping to further empower its personnel.
