Harrods offers staff 'sales degrees'
One of the most famous department stores in the UK is offering its sales staff the chance to study for a degree in the art of selling.
Harrods is offering 12 of its sales staff places on the two-year BA (Hons) sales degree at Anglia Ruskin University and it will help them understand the psychology of the discipline.
Arkin Salih, learning and development manager for Harrods, said by creating a degree tailored to the needs of the luxury retail environment the store is setting new standards in the retail sector.
"This will be the qualification for retail employees wishing to bolster their sales professionalism whilst investing for their long-term career planning," he said.
Professor Michael Thorne, university vice-chancellor, added that Harrods has a reputation for retail staff training that is second to none and he is happy the institute is helping to further empower its personnel.
Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, recently said that homeworkers need the right amount of support in order to succeed and be as productive as possible.
Aaron Wallis is a specialist sales recruitment agency that offers the UK's most inclusive service offering that includes psychometric profiling and online skills testing. Your investment in new staff is backed by a unique 12-months rebate scheme.
