Greater corporate responsibility 'creates more engaged workers'
Companies that have a good corporate responsibility programme have employees who are more engaged, confident and customer-focused, a new study has revealed.
The message for the sales recruitment industry from Kenexa Research Institute's (KRI) research is clear - if staff members respect their company's approach towards corporate responsibility then they will have more pride in their work.
Anne Herman, a research consultant at the KRI, said the links between employee contentment and greater corporate responsibility were evident throughout responses.
"Corporate social responsibility activities increase the overall job satisfaction of employees, particularly those in upper and middle management roles," she explained.
The expert added that having a strong corporate social responsibility culture can play a key part in helping organisations to keep high retention levels.
Mike Emmott, employee relations adviser at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, recently said companies should set up activities like badminton and horse riding in order to improve team bonding.
