Tall women have bigger wage packets

Women looking for sales recruitment opportunities have been told that height could ensure that they take home more money at the end of the month.

A study for Long Tall Sally found that female staff over 5ft 8in have more success in the workplace, both globally and in the UK.

It also found that tall women have a heightened chance of pocketing a salary of £30,000 or more a year.

Furthermore, the chances of progressing into a managerial role increase by 80 per cent for those over 6ft tall.

Arianne Cohen, author of The Tall Book: A Celebration of Life From On High, said that research has shown that taller people can reach greater heights in the workplace.

"As taller people have a downward eyecast when speaking to shorter colleagues, they are instinctively perceived to have authority and confidence," she added.

However, Karen Burns, writing for USNews, said that people attending job interviews should try not to impose themselves too much by interrupting the recruiter's questions.
