CV and interview advice should be given to young hopefuls
Young sales recruitment hopefuls should be given access to literacy skills, CV workshops and interview advice, according to an industry expert.
Shaf Rasul, writing for the Sun, said that he was "absolutely astounded" that TV hypnotist Paul McKenna was paid £20,000 to give a motivational talk to unemployed Scottish teenagers.
The Get Ready for Work Event, which was delivered by Skills Development Scotland, was also slated by Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray.
"These youngsters don't need to be hypnotised or taught how to develop instant confidence - they need practical advice on how to find a job. McKenna's £20,000 fee could have been invested in a literacy or skills workshop, a CV-building course or supporting youth innovation projects," added Mr Rasul.
Youngsters in Leicester have received such advice today, with a CV clinic, hot prospects and enterprise opportunity exhibition being held at De Montfort University to help improve their chances of experiencing sales recruitment success.
