Employers can help young to boost sales recruitment chances
The prospects of young sales recruitment hopefuls can be boosted by employers, according to an expert.
Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, said that although the government has provided extra help and support for young people, more can be done by businesses to assist them
"From an employer point of view, for those people who are in work, and are younger and on a lower income, there is always the issue of how much responsibility should be with the employer - particularly the larger ones - to train and develop their people," he added.
Mr Huxham also commented that some of these firms are very good at it, however, it is "patchy".
He said that by firms doing more to improve people's sales recruitment chances, they are likely to both attract applicants and improve their future prospects.
The expert's words came as the Resolution Foundation reported that low earners have seen a drop in income and a reduction in hours during the recession.
