Sales recruitment candidates 'now more optimistic'
Britons are becoming increasingly confident that there will be more sales jobs on offer soon, according to new research.
The Nationwide Building Society's February Consumer Confidence Index showed that the number of people who think the jobs market will be worse in six months time dipped below 50 per cent for the first time in a year and a half.
This equated to 43 per cent of people thinking that there will be fewer sales recruitment opportunities in August 2010 than there are at the moment.
Confidence is also growing across the board, with 39 per cent stating that the overall economic situation will be better in six months' time, possibly creating more sales jobs.
Furthermore, 88 per cent said that their household income will be the same or higher in six months' time, indicating that people are more positive about improving their job prospects.
These figures were backed up by a Report on Jobs study from Markit Economics, which showed that vacancies are rising at their sharpest rate for over two years.
