More than one in three workers has a second job
The recession has caused more than one in three workers to take on a second position in a sales job, according to new figures.
Research from employment law firm Peninsula found that the number of people looking for further sales recruitment opportunities has risen from 26 per cent to 38 per cent in the past year, the Mirror reported.
The firm's spokesman Peter Done said that working in dual sales jobs might be a short-term answer to financial difficulties.
Brendan Barber, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress, added that thousands of people are taking on part-time work or temporary jobs as they are unable to secure full-time positions.
Recent data from the Office for National Statistics backed this up, revealing that the number of people working fewer than 40 hours a week has risen by 700,000 in two years.
