Growth is expected in UK sales jobs

New figures have shown that confidence is returning among sales recruitment professionals.

Data from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's (REC's) JobsOutlook survey showed that 94 per cent of employers expect to either maintain or grow their permanent workforce in 2010.

It also revealed that one in four employers are planning to increase the number of sales jobs available for temporary workers in the next 12 months, highlighting the importance of remaining flexible in the current climate.

Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, said that increasing employer confidence looks like resulting in more people being hired over the coming year.

"Businesses are naturally cautious about the economic recovery which is why the provision of temporary and contract work will continue to provide a useful outlet," he added.

Last month, Mr Tweedy also said that that "slight recovery" from the recession could help to ignite demand for temporary sales jobs in the coming months.
