Women encouraged to go for part-time sales jobs
Female sales recruitment hopefuls should feel that they can apply for part-time jobs without fearing less pay, according to an industry expert.
Toni Eastwood OBE, training director at Everywoman, said that flexible working should not come at a cheaper price to people who need these kinds of sales jobs.
"Companies and organisations need to maintain a flexible, talented and balanced workforce, reflective of their customer base - part time and flexible working is a very realistic way of helping to achieve this and enables employers to attract and retain a more talented workforce," she added.
The expert also advised as long as women lead with childcare, they will never have the same number of hours to dedicate to work as their male counterparts and encouraged them to apply for sales jobs which offer them the flexibility that they need.
Ms Eastwood was speaking as the government announced the launch of a new women's employment strategy aimed at getting more highly-skilled, quality part-time sales jobs for female workers.
