REC to support young peoples' sales recruitment campaign
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has signed up to a new government campaign which aims to help young people into sales jobs.
Backing Young Britain is attempting to help prevent a generation of young people being lost to unemployment.
Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, said that while the unemployment figures for December showed a decline in the number of young claimants, there will be more people entering the labour market in the summer when they leave school or university.
"Employers and recruiters can play a crucial role by highlighting the skills and support mechanisms that are needed in order to build bridges into the world of work. We will be using our Youth Employment Taskforce to drive the debate forward," he added.
The REC's taskforce is currently attempting to highlight what the 'jobs of the future' are for young sales recruitment hopefuls, while also looking at what skills they need to succeed.
Earlier this week, the REC said that permanent staff placements increased for the sixth month running during January, while temporary and contract staff billings also rose at a marked pace.
