A global survey of hiring and firing trends has found that job prospects for sales professionals and managers are continuing to improve.

Recruitment Today reported that the Global Snapshot, undertaken by Antal, showed that hiring had gone up from 50 per cent of the respondents in Autumn 2009 to 53 per cent last month.

Sales recruitment hopefuls were also told that the number of businesses that were intending to hire over the coming quarter was up from 48 per cent to 55 per cent.

People looking for sales jobs were told that there should also be a drop in the number of firms that are looking to reduce their head count over the next three months.

Hiring levels in the UK were also showing positive signs, with 59 per cent looking for new staff, however, this was bettered in Switzerland (64 per cent).

Earlier this week, a new survey by Towers Watson showed that 82 per cent of European companies were planning to hire new employees in 2010.
