Govt announces plans to get people back to work
Young people hoping for sales recruitment success have been given a boost as the government has announced new plans aimed at helping getting people back to work.
The Care First Careers initiative aims to ensure that everyone between the ages of 18 and 24 who has been looking for work for six months will get a job offer, work experience or training.
Pre-employment training packages and employers being given £1,000 for taking on a young person experiencing sales recruitment difficulties is also part of plans.
Becci Newton, spokesperson for the Institute for Employment Studies, said that if employers are matched with young people who have a real interest in gaining skills and experience then the scheme could work out well.
"The financial incentive may come in handy in gaining CRB-checks if needed etcetera. I think it is useful but I do think a wider package of support to the employer may be needed too - along with ensuring a good match between young people and employers," she added.
