Cautious optimism returning to sales jobs
A feeling of cautious optimism is returning to the UK jobs market after recent figures showed that the number of people out of work has fallen.
Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said that although companies were beginning to hire permanent staff, a lot of the new jobs which are going to be created will be flexible positions.
The expert added that the private-sector job market was beginning to pick up, with businesses and sales recruitment professionals trying to maintain a balance between making cuts and delivery of services.
"A lot of employers and agencies are seeing more demands for staff. There is a more positive picture than there has been, it's starting from quite a low base but I think that there are some modest signs of recovery and genuine recruitment activity happening out there," he added.
Last week, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development revealed figures that showed the UK economy is growing again.
