Sales recruitment hopefuls given Facebook warning
Job hunters who are hoping for sales recruitment success need to make sure that their Facebook profile page is a responsible one, according to new research.
Figures by CareerBuilder showed that 53 per cent of employers now research potential job candidates on social networking sites.
Furthermore, 12 per cent stated that they were planning to start using the websites to do some background research, which could include looking at photos, comments on their wall and other information.
CareerBuilder also said that two in five employers said that they had found material which put them off hiring a sales recruitment hopeful.
"Social networking is a great way to make connections with potential job opportunities in 2010 and promote your personal brand across the internet. Make sure you are using this resource to your advantage by conveying a professional image and underscoring your qualifications," said president Farhan Yasin.
Recent changes to the setup of Facebook have allowed sales recruitment hopefuls to have more control over who can see their social networking information and photos.
