Nearly 250 jobs to be created in Fife
Sales recruitment hopefuls in Scotland have been boosted by the news that 238 jobs are to be created in Fife.
As part of the government's Future Jobs Fund, the positions will be created across the region throughout 2010 following a successful partnership bid for the employment funding by Fife Council.
The Courier reported that around two-thirds of the posts will be filled by young sales recruitment hopefuls, while the other third is being aimed at long-term unemployed people over 25 years.
Jim Murphy, Scottish secretary, said that these jobs are designed to give people who have been out of work a long time and particularly young people the experience and confidence that will help them find permanent work.
Mr Murphy added that he thinks Scotland is through the worst of the recession, although he did warn people that things may still be difficult, with employment helping to play a key role.
Earlier this week, the Future Jobs Fund helped to create 700 new positions in Greater Manchester, including some in sales jobs.
