New employment figures are 'encouraging'
New figures have shown that unemployment rose by the smallest amount since spring 2008, proving encouraging news for sales recruitment experts.
The data presents a hope that the rise of redundancies seen over the last 18 months may be over, with November seeing the claimant count actually falling for the first time since February 2008.
Thomas Usher, research fellow at the Institute for Employment Studies, said that the UK labour market conditions had improved, with levels rising for a second month in a row.
"This is particularly encouraging, as we might have expected overall unemployment to peak at a higher level, given the severity of the current recession. It would now seem that the UK labour market has dodged a bullet, at least for the present time," he added.
Earlier in the week, people looking for sales recruitment success were told that over 100,000 new opportunities will be made, with everyone under the age of 25 being guaranteed a job, training or work experience after six months of unemployment.
