Job hunters should focus their resume 'on the current need'
People hoping for job success in the new year need to focus their resume on the current needs of the market, according to an industry expert.
Jerome Young, founder and president of AttractJobsNow.com, told Forbes that when job hunters see a job posting they should assume that the company lacks expertise for a project that needs to be completed immediately.
"Your best chance of getting a job interview and a job offer is by identifying that company's need and focusing your resume, cover letter and interview strategy on it. A candidate with expertise in the current need has the best chance of landing the position," he added.
To achieve sales recruitment success, job hunters should also market themselves as an expert as the competition for a position is so intense given the size of the talent pool available to businesses.
In order to do this, it is vital that a CV is kept in order, easy to read, informative and clear.
It should also illustrate why a person is suited to a certain role by providing evidence of successful projects or value-adding experiences.
