Expert: Slow recovery but good signs are starting to show
Employment figures have shown that there are some good signs coming from the last three months of sales recruitment.
Kevin Green, chief executive at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, told delegates at the group's first annual convention that while the number of people experiencing sales recruitment success was not huge, the figures were "slightly better" than before.
"We're just starting to see growth in vacancies and placements in both temporary and permanent positions. Businesses are starting to make some decisions it's certainly taken a long time but there are some positive indicators," he added.
Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics, published earlier this month, found that the rate of decline of the labour market has slowed down in the third quarter of 2009.
The organisation said that the three-month period had the smallest quarterly increase in unemployment rates since the start of the recession, in the second quarter of 2008.
