Employer use of lie detector tests 'is growing'
More and more employers want to use lie detector tests to see if potential employees have been fibbing during a sales recruitment process.
BBC News reported that Andrew Armstrong and Patrick Mulligan, both from Dudley, have set up their own business and claim that they are being contacted by more employers to help with their recruitment needs.
In the UK, lie detector tests can be freely used for any job, providing the participant has signed a consent form.
The tests measure changes in breathing, sweat levels and blood pressure, claiming to be 98 per cent accurate.
Earlier this week, Phil Flaxton, chief executive of employment advice service Work Wise UK, warned desperate graduates that they should not lie on their CVs during the sales recruitment process as they would get found out by employers.
