Sales professionals 'starved of training'
People working in sales jobs have said that they do not receive enough training, with more than one third stating that they do not receive any at all.
Sales recruitment specialists Aaron Wallis has compiled a Sales Survey for 2009 and found that 58 per cent of respondents said they were not happy with the amount of training they received in a year.
Additionally, any comments that were left on the survey said that training was 'vital for performance'.
Nearly 15 per cent of professionals said that they received more than eight days training per year, with 17 per cent receiving one or two days. However, 36 per cent said that they never receive any training at all.
Rob Scott, managing director of Aaron Wallis, said that the survey highlighted that the best way to retain sales staff was to offer training and development opportunities for career enhancement.
He added: "There is an undeniable and obvious link between 'training days received' and 'performance against target' yet it is incredible that over half of the sales professionals surveyed had less than two training days over the last year."
