Sales manager jobs 'remain most in-demand'
Those in sales manager jobs are currently among the most in-demand professionals, it has been revealed.
Employers are still looking to take on new staff despite the economic downturn, according to Jobsite.co.uk's Recessional Recruiting report.
The study indicated that some 35 per cent of UK employers are hoping to ride out the recession by recruiting specific talent, while 53 per cent of employers are hiring despite the downturn.
Strategic consultants, sales managers and new business experts were found to be the most sought-after skill sets.
According to OnRec.com, chief executive of the group Keith Potts commented that all businesses should have plans in place to work through the downturn as smoothly as possible while remaining competitive.
He added: "By making some key appointments now it could help your company to both survive the recession and place it in a good position for rapid recovery as the economy improves."
This week, the British Chambers of Commerce indicated that sales recruitment could be on the rise, pointing out that the worst of the recession could now be over.
