Offering numerous payment options 'creates trust'

By Nikki Barrister

Businesses which sell products online are increasingly introducing multiple payment options to improve their legitimacy, those looking at sales jobs in an online firm may be interested to discover.

Nick Drew, director of e-commerce operations at ClickandBuy, claims that consumers looking to make an acquisition online will have a higher level of trust in sites which allow payments through a variety of methods.

He states that more firms in the retail sales sector are realising this and are taking action to provide customers with these options.

"British consumers are creatures of habit. If they have a favourite method of payment with which they feel safe and comfortable using, then they are more likely to want to continue using this," he asserts.

Mr Drew suggests that the online gaming industry has been notably quick in its adaptation to this, providing numerous systems.

Research by ClickandBuy recently found that two in five adults admit they feel more comfortable making a purchase from an online retail sales website when it provides a number of these options.
