Company videos 'can help recruitment process'

Pre-hiring mechanisms such as videos portraying staff, environment and the general feel of a workplace can help smooth the transition of a candidate into a new role, it has been claimed.

According to video development company Voices and Visions Productions, companies often need to reduce a large pool of aspirants before the interviewing process can begin.

The group went on to say poor job retention rates can lead to increased spending on administrative functions, replacement costs and resources for orientation and training, benefits and output.

Lee Garfinkle, chief marketing officer of law firm Lowenstein Sandler PC, commented that video has "been used as an effective tool in helping potential recruits get a better feeling for the firm and its attorneys".

He added that the success of the video lays in capturing all the company's qualities, then translating them to a high-energy, short video to display on the group's website.

Last week, BlackNews.com stressed that jobseekers should take care of their appearance as well as their preparation when they go for employment interviews.
