Jobseekers 'have ethical concerns'
By Paul Goatman
Jobseekers, including those looking for graduate sales jobs, are increasingly approaching companies that have a sense of environmental and social responsibility, it has been claimed.
According to Mark Catchlove, director of the specifier and design group at office supplier Herman Miller, workplaces across the UK are increasingly finding they have to improve their monitoring of CO2 emissions.
He continued: "A lot of graduates in the current climate are looking at companies based on their corporate social responsibility. That is already happening."
Mr Catchlove went on to say that the government should do more to reduce the environmental impact of UK offices, adding that workplaces should make more use of new technology.
Last week, political and public affairs staffing agency PoliTemps claimed that jobseekers should treat their employment search like a political campaign in order to succeed in the current market.
The company added that multiple strategies are required to get a CV seen by the people who matter and secure a job interview.
