Sales managers 'should use social networking to find leads'

Sales managers should look at how their firms manage use social and business networks, experts recommend.

Riley Samuda, sales executives at the Marketer, predicts these sites will become important platforms during the next twelve months.

He calls on businesses to approach these problems intelligently, as traditional advertising may not work through these mediums, sales managers may be interested to discover.

A number of big name brands are approaching LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter in new and exciting ways, he claims.

"It's not about having a banner or a generic online advert - it's about how you integrate your brand with that site and that will lead to good returns, as well as confidence," he asserts.

Ravjeet Kang, a second sales executive at the company, claims it is crucial for businesses to find a way to effectively advertise through this medium.

Their comments were made at the Technology for Marketing and Advertising conference, which discussed issues including direct and digital marketing, advertising and brand management.
