'Tighten recruitment' to survive credit crunch

Effective recruitment processes are vital in order for sales companies to survive in the current uncertain economic climate, it has been claimed.

According to Aorta Sales, hiring errors can cost organisations thousands of pounds in wasted salary, car expenses and desk costs.

"There is no short cut to effective recruitment, yes you can be lucky and there are people who have a good track record of recognising excellent sales people and know almost immediately that they will make the grade,[close quotes] a representative for the group commented.

Hiring one poor sales recruit can undo the positive work done by five good ones, the spokesperson added.

The enterprise went on to say that it has been called in numerous times to recover a situation after recruitment mistakes were made.

Earlier this week, research carried out by IT industry analyst IDC indicated that a large number of companies are restricting their sales productivity by limiting training strategies.
