Business Development Manager, Electronics

Business Development Manager, Electronics into OEMs - UK Role from Bristol Base. £35,000 Basic, £40,000 OTE plus equity, car allowance and benefits. Small, niche yet highly profitable manufacturer of embedded Software products, automation and testing products are rapidly become a niche leader by continuous business and product improvement. This is a true career role where after two years of year-on-year growth your success will be rewarded with equity in the business. The role requires a graduate engineer in electronics or similar discipline together with technical sales experience and a proven record of developing business with design engineer and R&D level contacts. Selling both hardware and associated professional services this is a highly technical sales role selling into a wide myriad of industries including Oil and Gas, Automotive, Defence, Petroleum, Aerospace, chemical, Telecoms and general engineering.

Seeking business in burgeoning technologies where their hugely established competition are technologically 'light years behind' they can offer superior and more future proof products at a comparable cost. Selling into end users, OEM's and system integrators the role requires a technically competent and experienced sales professional that is used to selling at conceptual levels, understanding client needs and 'speccing' product 'in hand' with customers.

To succeed you will have a commercial approach to technical sales and this is certainly not a 'milk round' type of sales role having the 'same old meetings' with the 'same old clients'. As a person you will be positive, proactive and outgoing with a flair for listening and understanding client problems and working collaboratively to provide the right solution. You will be highly consultative in approach and be able to communicate with non-technical staff in terms they'd understand. You will be a strong character that's unafraid to lean on colleagues for support and help and be a genuine 'team player' looking for a long term career opportunity. You will therefore be driven, determined yet socially sophisticated, tactful and diplomatic.
